Private ADHD assessment for families in Guildford
We do not have a clinic in Guildford. Guildford families come to us in West Byfleet, a short train or car ride away, for a face to face assessment with a consultant paediatrician.

If you are looking for a private ADHD assessment in Guildford for your child, we would be glad to help, but we want to be clear from the start: BZ Clinic does not have a Guildford clinic. We see Guildford families at our clinic in West Byfleet, about 10 miles away, where every appointment is face to face with a consultant paediatrician.
We assess children and young people aged 5 to 18. You do not need a GP referral, and we are not on the NHS Right to Choose pathway.
Getting to West Byfleet from Guildford
Our clinic is at West Byfleet Consulting Rooms, Madeira Road, West Byfleet, Surrey KT14 6DH. It is above West Byfleet GP Health Centre, a 2-minute walk from West Byfleet station.
By train
Most trains from Guildford go to Woking, which takes about 8 minutes. At Woking, change for West Byfleet, one stop and about 4 minutes away. With the change, allow roughly 20 to 35 minutes from Guildford station to West Byfleet station, depending on connections. From West Byfleet station, the clinic is a 2-minute walk.
By car
The drive from Guildford is usually around 20 to 30 minutes, often via the A3, though traffic around Guildford and the A3 can add time at busy periods. There is no free parking at the consulting rooms. The best place to park is the Botanical car park, which is cashless: pay with RingGo (location 71844) and choose up to 3 hours for a new assessment. Waitrose customers can park free at Waitrose for 1.5 hours, which is not long enough for a new assessment.
Why see a consultant paediatrician for a child ADHD assessment?
NICE guidance says ADHD should be diagnosed by a specialist, such as a paediatrician or psychiatrist, with training and expertise in ADHD. Both of our doctors are consultant paediatricians, not psychiatrists, so they look at your child's general health and development as well as attention and behaviour.
- Dr Bozena Zoric, Consultant Neurodevelopmental Paediatrician, has worked as a paediatrician in the UK for over 40 years and led one of the largest NHS ADHD clinics in the country for 20 years.
- Dr Lisa Wall, Consultant Neurodevelopmental Paediatrician, joins in November 2026. She has over 20 years in neurodevelopmental paediatrics and has been Clinical Lead for Surrey Developmental Paediatrics since 2017.
What the child ADHD assessment includes
Our assessments follow NICE guidance and are regularly audited. A new assessment includes:
- Questionnaires from you, your child's school and, where appropriate, your child.
- A QbCheck, a computer-based test of attention, activity and impulsivity, usually done at home before the appointment with guidance from our clinic co-ordinator. It is one part of the assessment, never used on its own, and not pass or fail.
- A 90-minute appointment with the doctor, face to face in West Byfleet.
- Clear next steps. Usually the doctor can give you a clear answer on the day, with recommendations for home and school.
- A letter to your GP after the assessment.
The doctor also screens for other conditions, such as autism, Tourette's syndrome, dyspraxia and dyslexia. BZ Clinic assesses ADHD only, so if something else may be going on, the doctor will signpost you. Our what to expect page walks through the day, and there is a separate page on ADHD assessment for teenagers.
How much a private ADHD assessment costs
A new assessment costs £1,700. That includes the questionnaires, the QbCheck and 90 minutes with the doctor. If your child already has a diagnosis from another clinic, a transfer appointment costs £1,200, subject to the previous report. Full details are on our private ADHD assessment cost page.
If medication is started and your child is stable on it, usually after around 3 to 4 months, we ask your NHS GP to take over prescribing under shared care. If your GP will not, a private GP practice in West Byfleet that we work with can take over.
Families from Woking, Godalming, Cranleigh, Send and Ripley
We welcome families from across the Guildford area. Send, Ripley and Woking are close to West Byfleet, and Woking is where most Guildford trains change. From Godalming, the train runs through Guildford and Woking. Cranleigh has no railway station, so driving is usually simplest from there.
How to book
There is no online booking. Camille, our clinic manager, handles every enquiry and booking. Call 07957 909754 or email admin@bzclinic.org, and she will explain the next steps. If you are not sure whether to ask for an assessment yet, our ADHD questionnaire can help you put your thoughts in order. Our full private ADHD assessment for children in Surrey page has more detail.
